The people behind Jellyfish

Holly
Co-Founder
My journey as a yoga teacher weaves throughout my career as a specialist community public health nurse and registered nurse.
With over 20 years in health settings and schools I witnessed the growing need for greater compassion and understanding around children and young people's emotional wellbeing. This fuelled my passion for sharing the transformative benefits of yoga, movement and mindfulness. I was determined to provide a nurturing environment for children and young people where they feel safe, happy, and connected. After working for SenSi teaching trauma-informed and attachment aware yoga to children with SEND as part of their therapeutic care, I then co-directed a yoga company called The Snug Norwich CIC where I was able to offer funded services to the community including one-to-one and group sessions for children with SEND and mental health challenges.
My approach is compassionate, playful, and intuitive.

Jo
Co-Founder
I'm passionate about supporting children and young people, having worked in this sector for over 20 years. Before qualifying as a Social Worker in 2010, I worked in residential settings; since then my experience has spanned Child Protection and Fostering.
Alongside my social work career, I've practised yoga for over 20 years — an anchor that's helped me pause, regulate and reduce stress. Over time, I became increasingly interested in how yoga and somatic practices could support children's emotional wellbeing, which inspired me to train as a yoga teacher. This led me to the Snug Norwich CIC, providing 1:1 and group yoga sessions for children with SEND.
My approach is therapeutic and relationship-focused, grounded in creating safe, nurturing spaces where children feel supported to explore their inner worlds, build confidence and develop the tools to thrive and overcome adversity.

Testimonials
What people say
As a parent, it has been reassuring to know that she has access to a consistent, nurturing environment where she feels heard and supported. The care, patience, and understanding shown has made a meaningful difference to both T and our family. I would not hesitate to recommend Jo and Holly to other families seeking compassionate, child-centred support.
My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her sessions with Holly. I highly recommend Holly and can honestly say that my daughter is now better able to cope with stressful situations at school. She uses the calming and grounding techniques that she regularly practiced in the sessions and really believe that her nervous system is now more regulated.
The sessions gave my daughter a safe and supportive space where she felt listened to and able to express her emotions, thoughts, and feelings without judgement. It helped her to explore different perspectives on situations, build confidence and communicate her needs, and hopefully get a better understanding of herself.
A reflection
The wisdom of the jellyfish
Imagine a jellyfish moving through the ocean. It doesn't fight the water. It gently pulses, expands and releases, using only the energy it needs. It allows the current to support some of its movement rather than constantly pushing against it.
This can be a beautiful metaphor for yoga — and for how we care for our nervous system. When we teach children, young people or adults, we are not simply teaching postures. We are offering opportunities to notice the body, slow the breath, release unnecessary tension and discover the difference between effort and ease.
Like the jellyfish, we can learn when to move, when to pause, when to soften and when to use our energy wisely.
For children and young people, this can become a simple message: “You don't always have to push against the current. You can pause, breathe and find your flow.” For adults, it can be a reminder that regulation doesn't mean being calm all the time. It means becoming more aware of what our body and nervous system need, and learning ways to return towards balance. The jellyfish reminds us that gentleness is not weakness.
Sometimes the most powerful movement is the one that uses less force.
